The 385 sq ft master suite offers magnificent mountain views through 2 large windows (7’x5’ and 6’x4’) as well as star gazing from the bed through the 4’x4’ skylight set into the 13’ vaulted ceiling. The ensuite bath comes with 2 person jet tub, separate shower and wood floors.

A charming interior window looks down onto the main floor area while the bedroom door opens onto the 300 sq ft carpeted loft, ideal for extra guests or as a quiet retreat area.
The custom-built open staircase is crafted from solid tamarack, cut and milled nearby and incorporates copper tubing in its design.

The main floor with 4 more sky lights set into the 23’ vaulted cedar ceiling is dominated by the large central space incorporating the kitchen, dining, lounge and cozy book-corner areas. The spacious open plan kitchen with pantry and central bar/island combines tile and reclaimed fir harvested from the Alberta prairie to create a warm yet efficiently functioning space.

The lounge area is centred on the unique recycled brick hearth fireplace with a 6’ high 10x10 dovetail fir mantle. Inset is the large and efficient Vermont Castings wood stove.
To the rear of the main floor are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom behind which is the 128 sq ft secluded covered deck (perfect for a hot tub). The deck also provides dry storage for firewood enabling the woodstove to be replenished without the need for shoes.

Accessed through the 8’ tall, beautifully handcrafted fir and glass main door, is the spacious SW facing front deck. Surrounded by trees with some growing right through it, the deck offers visual privacy while allowing ample winter sun to enter the home. Ideal for spring deck parties and summer BBQs. All decks are built with 10’x10’fir posts and fir railings in keeping with the remainder of the house.

All of the main house interior features are individually hand made from recycled fir from Alberta prairie homesteads—these include interior doors, closet doors, vanities and kitchen cabinetry, window and door jams, headers, sills and window and baseboard mouldings. The ground floor houses the main entry room and a separate entry to the fully self contained 3-bedroom suite. The bright and spacious ground-level suite, with full bath and kitchen, is easily opened to the rest of the house if required.

Access:
During the winter, road access is from the rear, with the front reserved for skiers, snow- boarders, and pedestrian traffic. The treed lane on the property to the rear provides parking for 3-4 vehicles.
